New Year Card (2024)

Discussion with Teachers
Held a discussion with the teachers of the 2023 O/L students regarding their educational development.
Night Camp Series for the 2023 O/L Students
Conducted a Night Camp Series for the 2023 O/L students, beginning with the Maths Night Camp, followed by Science and Sinhala Night Camps. The camps were conducted in Sinhala, Tamil, and English by prominent tutors. Additionally, provided dinner, breakfast, and a snack for every student who participated, with financial contributions from the OBA.
Thurstan-Isipathana Big Debate (2024)
Participated in the Thurstan-Isipathana Big Debate, held concurrently with the Thurstan-Isipathana Big Match. Provided financial support for securing a coach for the English Medium Debate team. The debate took place at Thurstan College premises on 3rd April 2024 with Isipathana College winning the English Medium Debate and Thurstan College winning the Sinhala Debate.

Career Guidance Program for After-O/L Students
Organized a Career Guidance Program for After-O/L students to assist them in selecting an appropriate stream for their Advanced Level studies. Mrs. Damitha from the UGC conducted a session on choosing the right stream. The auditorium facilities were provided free of charge by our prominent Old Boy Dr. Jagath De Alwis (Chairman - ICBT Campus).
Seminar Series for Tamil Medium Students
Financially sponsored a seminar series for Tamil medium O/L students which was organized by Assistant Principal Tamil Medium - Mrs. P. Satheeswaran in April.
A Special Discussion with Teachers
Held a special discussion with A/L teachers on July 2nd to improve A/L results of students.
Isiwara Waruna - Grade 01 (ඉසිවර වරුණ)
Grade one book which the Education Committee developed and distributed among all the Grade 01 students. This includes Schools History, Houses, Sports & The logo.
Welcoming the New Students of Grade One
New students to Grade One were welcomed by Principal Mr. Oshara Panditharathne together with teachers of the junior section.
Big Debate
The 49th annual Big Debate between Isipathana College and Thurstan College was held on 2nd March at Isipathana College Colombo 05. The English debate team of Isipathana College won the English debate while Thurstan College won the Sinhala debate.
Leelananda Memorial Debate
The annual debating competition between Isipathana College and Anula Vidyalaya was organized by Isipathana College and held on 27th of April at Isipathana College Colombo 05. The Isipathana College debaters won the English debate while Anula College won the Sinhala debate.
World’s Teachers’ Day and Children’s Day Celebrations
To praise our beloved teaching staff, a valuable gift was presented to each member as a token of appreciation and a tea party was organized at the college premises. As a gift, a notebook was distributed among all the students of the college celebrating World Children’s Day.
Motivational Training Programs
Arranged motivational training programmes for students to support their personal and academic development.
Grade 10: Arranged a motivational training program for the Grade 10 students on 16th June 2023. This was conducted by Mr. Kusal Rathnapala, Motivational Speaker and a Professional Trainer.
Grades 6–8: Arranged a motivational training program for the Grade 6 – 8 students and their parents on 10th November 2023. This was conducted by Mr. Ajith Jayawardena, Lecturer, Motivational Speaker and a Professional Trainer.
Grade 5 Seminars
Two seminars were arranged for Sinhala & Tamil medium Grade 5 students.
Grade 11 Seminars
Series of seminars were arranged focusing on O/L students in the following subjects.
