Isipathana College

Inception of this great institute was marked in 1952, February 02nd as the primary grades of Royal College, Colombo under the name “Greenland College” Mr. B. A. Kuruppu becomes the first Principal of Greenland College. Within a short span as 7 years, Mr. Kuruppu was able to lay a strong foundation introducing studies in all three languages Sinhala, Tamil & English. During this time from Grade 1 to Grade 3, 400 students have studied in 13 classes. From there onwards Isipathana college has come a long way producing many talents to the country, and currently nurturing 5,000 plus students. Today the college facilitates students from Grade 1 to Advance Level in all streams of studies, with infrastructure available to continue in all three languages.

Isipathana College Old Boys’ Association was originally formed in the year 1960 and reorganized in the year 1982 formally.
